Product description

Product Overview

Rowmark Mirror is a high-quality mirrored acrylic sheet material (PMMA) with a strong, reflective, mirror-like finish. It is designed as a safe, lightweight, and durable alternative to glass mirrors, offering excellent workability for signage, awards, décor, and creative applications. It is significantly stronger and safer than standard glass.

Technical Properties

Material & Construction

  • Cell-cast acrylic (PMMA): a lightweight yet rigid plastic sheet with a mirrored surface.

  • Reflective finish: provides a glass-like mirror reflection while remaining strong and shatter-resistant.

Mechanical Properties

  • Strong and lightweight: much stronger and lighter than regular glass, less prone to breakage.

  • High scratch and impact resistance: improved durability in applications where real mirrors would be vulnerable.

Sizes & Thicknesses

  • Typical thickness around 3 mm or similar. Available sizes vary by supplier.

Resistance & Environment

  • Acrylic products may offer UV stability and limited outdoor resistance (depending on product variants); specific outdoor ratings depend on the material type.

Applications

Rowmark Mirror is suitable for a wide range of use cases:

Signage & Displays

  • Reflective panels for advertising signs, POS displays, and retail presentations.

  • Interior signage with a premium mirrored finish.

Awards & Decoration

  • Trophy and award panels, decorative signs, and nameplates.

  • Use as a backing for trophies or as an accent element in decorative pieces.

Creative & Interior Projects

  • Mirrored elements in interior design, art, and DIY projects.

Processing & Engraving Options

Rowmark Mirror can be processed using standard acrylic fabrication methods.

Cutting

  • Laser (COâ‚‚): vector cutting and contouring with smooth edges.

  • Mechanical sawing: process-friendly and minimizes cracking.

Engraving

  • Laser engraving: possible, but mirrored surfaces may present some reflection challenges—testing laser settings is recommended to achieve optimal contrast.

  • Rotary engraving/routing: deep relief engraving without thermal limitations.

Edge Finishing

  • Beveling and polishing achievable with standard processing equipment for a smooth finish.

Bonding & Mounting

  • Suitable for use with industrial acrylic adhesives or tape systems compatible with mirrored PMMA substrates.

Engraving Tips – Best Practices

For laser engraving:

  • Test small samples first to determine optimal power and speed—mirrored surfaces may affect reflection and absorption.

  • Consider multiple low-power passes for deeper, cleaner engravings without overheating.

Reflective Behavior

  • Reflective surfaces may respond differently to light; adjust focus carefully to minimize melting or burr formation.

Protection During Processing

  • Keep the protective film on the surface as long as possible during processing to prevent scratches.

Advantages

  • Aesthetic mirrored surface without the fragility of glass.

  • Lightweight and safe for transport and installation.

  • Highly versatile processing: laser, rotary, and mechanical methods.

Points of Attention

  • Mirrored acrylic products may show slight optical variations depending on color and lighting conditions.

  • Not all mirrored acrylic variants are equally UV-stable or suitable for outdoor use; always check product specifications for exterior applications.
